Linda Kaye Payne, 73, of Cross Plains, Texas went to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 in Abilene, Texas.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, July 28, 2018 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church, in Cross Plains, Texas with Kenneth Reiter officiating. Burial will follow at Cross Plains Memorial Park in Cross Plains, Texas. The family will have a time of visitation on Friday, July 27 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Higginbotham Funeral Home in Cross Plains, Texas.

Linda was born on August 8, 1944 in Borger, TX to the late John Thomas and Erma Lee Floyd. She had a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and worked as a Register Nurse. Linda married the love of her life Charles H. Payne on June 12, 1964 at the First Baptist Church in Bowie, Texas. Linda loved taking care of her family. She was always supportive and encouraging, always wise and kind to anyone she knew and met. She will be remembered as a selfless, Altruistic wife and mother who always had a smile, even when times were tough. She had a quiet strength. She never complained and always look to a better future. Always graceful, until God called her home.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Charles H. Payne of Cross Plains; son, Charles H. Payne, Jr. and wife, Melinda of Abilene; daughter, Sheila Blackburn and husband, Jeff of Cross Plains; 7 grandchildren, Jerrad Eisenbach and wife, Alexandria; Alyssa Payne; Nicole Eisenbach; Hunter Payne; Makenna Payne; James Rhyne; Zane Blackburn; one great-grandson to be, Daxton Eisenbach; brother, Johnny Floyd and wife, Patricia; sister-in-law, Sharlla Stone and husband, Mason
