Raymond Paul Neeb, 89, of Cross Plains, passed away Friday, September 22 at the Rising Star Nursing Center in Rising Star, TX.

Paul was born May 21, 1928 to the late Raymond Milton (Pete) and Dona Mae Miller-Neeb in Cross Plains, TX. He attended Cross Plains High School and worked at the Gibson Ranch. He was an Army veteran and a pipe line welder. He was one of the first to weld on the cross-country gas lines. The highlight of his career was in 1975 when he flew to Galbraith Lake to weld on the Alaska pipeline.

He taught his 3 oldest sons, as well as many other young men to weld, giving them a lifelong vocation. He loved fishing and bird hunting. Often, he took his family quail hunting during the holidays. He loved children and would go out of his way to help any child in need. He was a Christian and a fifth-generation Texan.

Paul is survived by his 4 sons, Billy Jack Neeb, Joey Jay Neeb, Johnny Ray Neeb and Eddie Barrerra; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Joann Neeb Darnell.
